# Rewards

Rewards turn everyday Spendl activity into progress, points, and friendly competition.

As you use the app, you earn XP, level up, unlock milestones, and climb the leaderboard. It is a simple way to stay engaged, build good habits, and get recognised for how you use your Spendl account.

### What You Can Do With Rewards

| Feature               | What It Does                                                      |
| --------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Earn XP | Collect experience points as you complete actions in the app |
| Level up | Move through levels and ranks as your XP grows |
| Unlock milestones | Complete achievements tied to key actions like your first deposit |
| Build streaks | Keep a daily activity streak going |
| Climb the leaderboard | Compare your XP against other users over different time periods |
| Track progress | See how many milestones you have unlocked and how far to the next |

### Levels and XP

Every qualifying action earns XP. As your XP grows, you move up through levels, each with its own rank name.

Your levels view shows:

* Your current level and rank
* Your total XP earned
* How much XP you need to reach the next level
* A progress bar toward the next level

### Milestones

Milestones are achievements you unlock by completing specific actions in the app for the first time.

Your milestones view shows:

* Your overall completion, for example 7 of 12 milestones unlocked
* Your current daily streak
* Your rank
* A list of milestones, each showing whether it is complete, in progress, or locked

Examples of milestones include:

* **First Deposit:** make your first deposit into your wallet
* **First Send:** send money to someone for the first time
* **First Remittance:** send your first international transfer
* **First Crypto:** make your first crypto transaction
* **First Voucher Redeem:** redeem your first OTT voucher

Locked milestones stay hidden until their unlock conditions are met, giving you something to work toward.

### Leaderboard

The leaderboard ranks users by XP so you can see how you compare.

Your leaderboard view shows:

* Your current rank and XP for the selected period
* A ranked list of users with their XP and achievement counts
* Time filters for Week, Month, and All time

### Using Rewards to Drive Engagement and Retention

For businesses running Spendl as a white-label or embedded product, Rewards is a built-in engagement and retention layer for your end users.

It helps you:

* **Encourage first actions:** milestones guide new users through key features like their first deposit, send, or remittance, improving activation and onboarding completion
* **Build daily habits:** streaks give users a reason to return every day, lifting daily active usage
* **Reward depth of use:** XP and levels recognise users who explore more features, nudging them from single-product use toward the full platform
* **Create healthy competition:** the leaderboard taps into social motivation, keeping users active over weekly and monthly cycles
* **Increase lifetime value:** users who complete more milestones and stay engaged tend to transact more often and stay longer

Because Rewards is tied directly to real product actions, engagement translates into meaningful activity across the wallet, card, crypto, and remittance features rather than empty points.
